My client, based in Bury St. Edmunds, is a popular and large scale organisation that's group expands overseas. The company itself is always finding adaptive ways to keep up with the times and are always looking for new ways to maintain its position in a constantly evolving industry. The Senior Finance Analyst will be expected to be involved in maintaining the quality and the efficiency of processes withing the businesses whilst it progresses.

Description

Job Description:

  • To support operations management team by providing relevant financial reporting information to enable them to manage effectively their budgets and also to provide commercial input into the team on capital investments, including monitoring of major capital projects
  • Month end review and analysis for various operations
  • Cost control - implementing processes and controls so we can better manage costs and get early warning
  • Developing annual budgets and forecasts working with key non-finance staff and Divisional leadership
  • Integral element of development and constant refresh of 5 year strategic plans and performance analysis vs these plans
  • Adhoc analysis and project work as required, including pre and post ROI, challenging the non-finance line managers on their requests / requirements such as number of staff / investment in various sites
  • Work with Admissions and IT to ensure systems reflect the most up to date information on pricing, discounts - be the finance owner
  • Provide info to the Financial Controller for Board / Bank presentations
  • Constant Process improvement - challenge the status quo and optimise processes
  • Working closely with the MDs and COOs of operations on priority initiatives and being part of their teams in developing these plans
  • The role is expected to be approximately 40% standard finance - month end, budgets, forecasts; 40% project work / analysis; 20% challenging the way things are done and process improvement. This last 20% is critical as the business has grown rapidly and is now big and complex and processes need to be adapted.

Profile

The Senior Finance Analyst should be qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA and ideally have a strong attention to detail and the abilities to communicate at all levels would be essential.
