Commercial Accountant, FMCG, KILDARE

Our client is a leading FMCG company who are expanding their Commercial Team.  Because of this strategic growth, they require a Commercial Accountant to join their finance team.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive organisation and play a key role in its' development and growth. Overview: You will be responsible for understanding key revenue & margin drivers within the business & providing valuable financial insight to key stakeholders.  A core part of this role will be to influence, challenge and partner with Sales, Marketing and Category teams to deliver on business targets and ensure the best return on investment to support sustainable profitability. Role Responsibilities: Support the Finance Director in the analysis of business performance and management of financial and commercial aspects of key projects. Work closely with Field Sales Manager to provide valuable financial insight that allows field sales team to impact revenue & profitability Support the commercial team within a category on financial decisions, P&L, margin, pricing and profitability. (specific focus on trade spend & brand investment). Present analysis and commercial status to senior management. Ensure all proposed projects are financially viable Work with operations to understand impacts and determine required cost recovery Effectively evaluate key commercial activities for various customers/categories Manage and track key variables vs plan & identify risks and opportunities Ensure demand for the commercial business is producing accurate and feasible revenue and margin Produce valuable and insightful periodic management reporting ROI & profitability analysis in line with business requirements Contribute to creating a positive culture that delivers financial and business targets. Candidate Requirements: Qualified Accountant (CIMA preferred) Previous experience in a Commercial role is essential Previous experience working in an FMCG environment will also be a distinct advantage. Strong relationship building skills and an ability to really influence and partner with business units and people is key for this position. Technically able to create engaging PowerPoint presentations and be an expert with Excel.
