Your expertise will have great influence in shaping the future of the Finance function. From delivering comprehensive MI and reports, to defining and implementing process improvements, you'll provide senior managers with the commercial insight and financial control to lead and optimise the business effectively. It's an important role which carries a lot of responsibility. But you won't be on your own; you'll be supported by 2 Management Accountants.

Description
- Own all processes and controls within your team to ensure timely accurate reported information
- Provide proactive guidance to staff on accounting and cost management, increasing their confidence and empowerment in use of tools and decision-making
- Deliver monthly committee reports and other regular and ad hoc analysis, with focus on financial technical accuracy of results and appropriate reflection of business performance, risks and opportunities
- Contribute to the planning and forecasting processes, owning cost forecasting
- Challenge and improve processes, outputs and business requirements across finance to ensure value add, reduction in time taken, appropriateness of controls, and financials are in line with relevant accounting standards. Highlight key accounting and process impacts from business changes, designing and implementing resulting changes.
- Identify and mitigate risks for your areas of ownership, ensuring appropriate controls. Instil and maintain a strong financial control environment. Support the Senior Finance Manager in providing audit information.
Profile
- You will have significant experience highlighting control issues and recommending improvements to processes to mitigate risk
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills and flexibility to manage changing deadlines and deliverables.
- Experience of systems, process development and streamlining - as this role has strong focus on process and controls
- A strong enthusiastic approach to people management; with the ability to coach, develop, motivate and build capability of two direct reports.
- A savvy commercial focus, with an in-depth understanding of KPIs and cost/profit drivers
- Personable and credible, you'll be confident managing relationship
You're not afraid to challenge approaches and behaviours, in order to help improve processes
- Good communication and presentation skills, in particular to non-Finance people
- Good knowledge of various computer packages including Excel, PowerPoint.
Job Offer
£40,000-46,000 + benefits, on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis.
