We are looking for an Interim Finance Director to join a market leading owner managed SME manufacturing business for a period of 6 months.The successful individual will have high integrity combined with strong manufacturing experience and ability to drive change and continuous improvement. Reporting to the owner (and Managing Director), they will manage the Finance team of 4 and will be responsible for all financial matters within the site. The candidate must be hands on, technically strong, influential and challenging with demonstrable senior finance experience gained within a fast-paced, SME environment. The Interim Finance Director must have personality, be a team player and create a close working relationship with the MD and the management team.

Key accountabilities for the Interim Finance Director include, but are not limited to:

Interim Finance Director Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring monthly account pack is produced with insightful commerntary.
  • Cashflow analysis and forecasting.
  • Developing new suite of integrated forecasting tools and assisting the Board in financial aspects of the three year strategic plan.
  • Managing the finance team
  • Driving a system of Daily and Weekly Dashboards
  • Bugeting and forecasting
  • Improving quality of management information and pursuing lean accounting principles
  • Business modelling for major projects
  • Business Partnering the MD
  • Responsibility for production of Management and Statutory accounts
  • Cash forecasting.
  • Ensuring accounts are correctly stated and reported on a timely basis

Interim Finance Director Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Graduate with recognised Professional Qualification (Industry or Practice) e.g. CIMA, ACCA , ACA etc
  • 5 years post qualification experience in manufacturing environment
  • Able to report and explain financial results to non-finance senior management.
  • Complex problem solving and project management
  • Risk Management and advisor relationship management.
  • Strong cash management / forecasting experience.
  • Experience of raising finance and managing finance in a leveraged business would be beneficial.
  • Professional demeanour with high degree of comfort speaking with Senior Management
  • Must thrive in an environment driven by tight schedules/deadlines and to deliver results.
