Assistant Accountant

My client specialises in the delivery of innovative electronic solutions. The Company require a part-time Assistant Accountant to replace the retiring incumbent. Hours and flexibility to be discussed but current position is covered in 25 hours. You will be reporting to the Financial Controller. Primary responsibilities Managing the sales ledger which involves invoicing in three main currencies Calculating the applicable carriage charge. Sending out invoices and also statements when required. Chasing in monies outstanding on a regular basis. Allocation of payments received from customers. Notifying and progressing the resolution of any unpaid invoices held in query, with sales and logistics staff. Dealing with phone and email queries and requests. Preparing bank payments to foreign and UK suppliers using HSBC net for authorisation by company accountant Analysing and entering staff expenses on the system Completing bank to cash book reconciliations on a regular basis Allocation of these payments to our purchase ledgers Credit checking the details of new and existing customers Preparing and submitting monthly intrastat and EC sales reports Adhoc work of an accounting nature which may be required. Candidate Profile Part/ Qualified ACA, ACCA, ACMA, AAT or QBE Experience of Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) Good all round understanding of double entry bookkeeping and ability to chase customers for outstanding invoices in a friendly manner. Strong I.T. skills. Prepared to take responsibility. Self motivating and good at prioritising.
