Financial Controller

I am currently working with a prestigious listed global organisation to recruit a divisional Financial Controller in to the business on an initial 6 month contract. Leading the group's European finance teams, this requires the Financial Controller to be in Belgium Monday - Friday (expenses paid), for an initial four months before relocating to their Hampshire site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support with financial control improvements including balance sheet integrity, banking controls, cost and revenue recognition, fixed asset control and SUN system use and access.
• Manage and support the month, half year and year end reporting and quarterly/annual planning and forecasting.
• Develop and maintain relationships with contract finance teams, and assist in financial performance review.
• Build relationships with the SSC finance team and the divisional finance manager, providing guidance, support and feedback.
• Provide guidance to the contracts team and liaise with Group and Divisional teams on technical accounting matters, including supporting the preparation of accounting papers.
• Ensuring statutory accounts within the business are prepared and completed within the correct timescales.

This role will suit a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience of working in a similar role for a large organisation. Experience of handling European or EMEA accounting teams is highly preferable, and you must be willing to be based in Belgium for the initial 4 months.
