Deeside Cereals is one of the largest manufacturers of supermarket own brand breakfast cereals and cereal bars in Europe. They are a leading manufacturer of innovative and delicious breakfast cereals as well as cereal bars and they are able to offer their customers an extensive range of finished products available on the market.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Site Financial Controller, reporting directly to the Managing Director, to lead the financial and controlling functions as a business support partner. You will focus on driving growth whilst reducing costs by ensuring overall control of financial resources, ensuring that performance is fully understood and opportunities to improve are identified and delivered.

Working within the operational leadership team, you will identify opportunities to add value to the business, report to the board on financial issues and ensure products are developed that are targeted to enhance value. You will ensure a strong process for control to safeguard the assets of the business, clarify the working capital impacts as the business develops and ensure appropriate controls are in place and evolve as the business grows. You must ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements with all audits showing the accuracy of their processes as well as ensuring accurate accounting information is provided to agreed deadlines. With a real understanding of the drivers of value into their products, you will support growth through costing scenario support, provide impact analysis and ensure that necessary financial support is given during and after major projects to ensure that RoI expectations are delivered.

They're looking for someone who is financially qualified to ICAEW / ACCA / CIMA with a proven track record in delivering sustainable financial performance improvements through a change management programme, and crucially the resilience and drive to succeed.

This role has the benefit of an overall business view, but is expected to combine this with an active role in financial and controlling procedures where necessary to ensure results are brought to life and colleagues are engaged and provided the tools to make business judgements on sound financial information.

Excellent presentation and communication skills are essential combined with negotiation and influencing skills, the ability to work and prioritise under pressure and excellent IT skills, including Excel Advanced, pivot tables and PowerPoint. Also vital to the role is manufacturing exposure ideally within an FMCG environment and experience within a financial function within food manufacturing would be advantageous.
