An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Management Accountant - ACCA, ACA, CIMA to join my client's team in Southampton. The successful Management Accountant - ACCA, ACA, CIMA will play a key role in its finance team to deliver quality month-end reporting, forecasts, budgets and long-term business plans, in line with its financial timetable.

Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting and challenging cost centre managers to understand their cost centre financial status
  • In conjunction with my client's Finance Team, preparing month-end accounts and monthly reporting packs in line with the prescribed group timetable
  • Responsible for co-ordination with Finance and other central functions of the monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and the timely compilation of a dynamic monthly balance sheet reconciliation file
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and preparation of the monthly capital accounting reporting and fixed assets schedule in conjunction with the Projects team and relevant third parties, in line with the Group reporting timetable
  • Responsible for the preparation of forecast and budget cost centre templates and providing support and challenge to cost centre managers in their timely completion
  • Responsible for the compilation and upload to financial reporting systems of periodic forecasts, budgets and long term business plans
  • Principal support to the Finance Manager in the preparation of reporting packs and commentary of periodic forecasts, budgets and long term business plans
  • Financial modelling of key costs and incomes
  • Ad-hoc financial projects as and when required

Profile

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in working with various computer based systems including ERP and/or hierarchical financial planning systems (eg SAP BPC, Agresso)
  • Qualified - ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Solid experience of management accounting and/or business planning disciplines
  • Proactive attitude to work with excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work to deadlines and cope under pressure
  • Excellent general IT and financial modelling skills (Microsoft Office with advanced Excel)
