I have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join a well-known Glasgow Employer based just a 5-minute walk from Glasgow Central train station. The post is permanent and would suit a candidate with experience in manufacturing field.

Working under the Management Accountants and a long side a finance team of 10 you will help in the preparation of monthly and annual accounts, budgets and forecasts in accordance with Group deadlines.

The main responsibilities of your role include:
  • Preparation of month end journal entries
  • P&L and balance sheet variance analysis and reporting
  • Assistance with budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
  • Assistance with cash flow forecasting
  • Assistance with interim and year-end audits
  • Ensuring that accounting entries processed adhere to all internal controls
  • Assisting department by suggesting process improvements.
  • Maintain stock by working closely with the stock team to ensure all stock movements are tracked and reported in the stock ledgers accordingly; and investigating any discrepancies
  • Processing stock transactional records including PO's, supplier invoices and payments
  • Month end reconciliation of stock ledgers to the stock count reports by valuing and analysing stock counts.
  • Ad hoc duties as requested by the Finance team

Skills required/ desirable for the role:
  • Strong organisational skills to meet deadlines
  • Work strongly in a team (10 in finance)
  • Strong IT skills, in particular EXCEL and SAGE
  • Strong written and oral communication skills as you will be liaising with stockroom
  • QBE or PQ Accountant
  • Experience of reporting, analysis and management accounts
  • Experience in a similar role working in a busy environment
