Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Costing & Pricing Accountant within our Business Planning and Reporting Services team. You will lead the submission of the annual TRAC return to the Office for Students, and will be accountable for developing costing methodologies using full economic costing principles for application throughout the University. This will include leading the development of University costing templates and promotion of culture change throughout the University on costing, pricing and sustainability. Typically, you will: * Be able to interpret and convey complex information (both orally and in writing) to a range of diverse audiences and liaise credibly and articulately with other professionals, with a high attention to detail. * Have excellent analytical and financial modelling skills, including the ability to explore, evaluate and interpret complex sets of information, draw conclusions, report and recommend potential solutions with practicable courses of action taking into consideration the wider impact of these solutions. * Ability to build relationships and establish networks with internal and external contacts, influencing others thinking and to negotiate in order to achieve the desired positive outcomes. Ideal candidate: * Experience of working in a costing/ pricing role within an accounting environment of a large organisation, presenting detailed information in a formal manner to senior managers in both verbal and written formats. * Excellent technical accounting skills and a proven ability to apply them effectively. * Well-developed communication, presentation and relationship management skills including an ability to engage effectively with stakeholders. * Ability to maintain a calm approach under pressure and be able to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment. * ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
