Due to an increased workload, we are looking for a Management Accountant to join our recently refurbished Preston office. The ideal candidate will join a busy finance team of 8 staff located at the company's head office in Preston. They will be reporting to the financial controller and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely monthly reporting; mainly for the main UK trading entity Expleo Engineering UK Limited but also supporting other UK entities as necessary. The candidate will also take lead responsibility for ensuring the smooth running of the finance department.

Key tasks / Responsibilities:

Perform month reconciliations and month end closure

Prepare month end journals, including intercompany accruals and prepayments

Balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss analysis

Support all group information and reporting deadlines

Manage small accounts payable team, ensuring all transactions are coded correctly.

Contribute to preparation of monthly management reports to senior managers

Contribute to the preparation and consolidation of budgets and forecasts

Prepare and submit VAT returns

Mentor junior staff with their accounting qualifications

Support year end statutory audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing all necessary documentation and evidence

Other adhoc projects as required

Key skills:

Advanced Excel skills

Experience with Sage 1000 package or similar is preferential

Ability to communicate effectively across all management levels of the business

Ability to work under pressure and meet key deadlines

Qualifications / Experience required:

CIMA/ACCA finalist, newly qualified

At least 2 years' experience in similar position

Experience of managing a finance team
