Internal Audit Manager

NXTGEN are working with an established and very reputable market leader based in Peterborough to recruit an Internal Audit Manager. This mixed role will support both Financial and Operational risk areas, playing a central role in the delivery of the annual

audit plan. As Internal Audit Manager, you will drive continuous improvement projects across the organisation, identifying opportunities for increased control to improve consistency of reporting. The successful candidate will also take responsibility for managing

and reviewing routine audit assignments and will act as the escalation point for any high priority risks and investigations.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities within the role will include: - Support the delivery of the Internal Audit plan, working with business unit managers to ensure compliance - Identify opportunities for increased controls to mitigate potential business risks, whilst also creating efficiencies. This will include the design and test of new controls - Manage internal queries on local policies and standards as required - Communicate compliance objectives to the business, influencing change and continuous improvement projects across the organisation - Prepare and present papers to the Audit Committee when required

The successful candidate will ideally hold a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA or equivalent), or will hold an Internal Audit qualification (IIA or equivalent). Prior experience of both Financial and Operational risk would be beneficial combined

with experience delivering assurance on systems and projects. Candidates will have demonstrable experience in risk management and designing internal controls, whilst also having the confidence to constructively challenging the status quo. Excellent stakeholder

management and influencing skills will be key to succeeding in this role.
