A newly created position for a qualified Finance Manager to join the divisional head office of a very well established national distribution business, resulting from restructuring in the finance team after a period of positive change. Reporting to the Financial Controller, as Finance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the monthly accounting close activities lead to the general ledger being accurately stated, completed on a timely basis and that there is the requisite level of
internal control in line with best practice for group policies. The role includes managing and developing a team, deputising for the Financial Controller and also includes managing change projects as the shared service centre develops. Your other key areas of responsibility as Finance Manager will include: Communicating delivery responsibilities to stakeholders Driving a performance improvement focus across the team Ensuring management are aware of any emerging issues that affect month end reporting at the earliest opportunity Ensuring other Group requirements are met including compliance documentation, internal and external audit requests, and reporting deadlines for IFRS notes / tax packs / stat packs As a person, the Finance Manager will need to be a qualified Accountant with strong attention to detail and an ability to see the bigger picture when required, able to manage and develop a team, with previous large company process and accounting experience.
