Assistant Accountant - Private Equity Our client is an international private equity business based in central London; a successful business who continue to grow at a rapid pace.

Purpose of Position: A new role exists for an Assistant Accountant who will play an essential role supporting the finance function and month end reporting process. This opportunity would be suitable for an early stage studying ACCA/CIMA junior or assistant accountant, looking to begin their career in Financial Services, within the Private Equity space. The candidate will be expected to gain relevant accounting qualifications (which will be supported by the business) and develop within a dynamic finance function. The role will provide a wide spectrum of junior responsibilities across the main areas of finance which will develop a generalist skill set. Initially the role will focus on general bookkeeping and reconciliation work and include assisting other team members with monthly and quarterly reporting, and the role will develop over time to include a greater involvement in management accounting. Reporting to: Senior Accountant: Responsibilities: Processing daily/weekly journals in SAGE for bank, revenue, expense and balance sheet transactions. Preparing the quarterly client fee rebate packs for reviews. Preparing the quarterly fund and client fees for reviews. Conduct periodic reconciliation of accounts to ensure their accuracy. Assist with completion of monthly bank reconciliation. Prepare monthly management accounts for GP companies. Prepare annual statutory accounts and reports for allocated corporate entities. Provide documentation as required to auditors for the Group/ Corporate and SOX audits. Assist in the preparation of regulatory returns to the FCA and SFC. Support the finance team with any other projects as required. Experience Required: A junior or part qualified accountant with 1-2 years' experience in accounting looking to obtain an accountancy qualifications. Excellent IT skills, Microsoft Office including advanced Excel. Works well under pressure and to tight deadlines. Good concentration. Excellent attention to detail.
