Job Description
We are looking for multiple experienced Audit Senior Managers to join the Audit practice within Public Sector and Healthcare. We currently have an opportunities in the London office. Our audit engagements range across, Healthcare, Higher and Further Education, Housing Associations, Government and Charities. KPMG is a market leader in most of these sectors and we are the largest Public Sector audit practice within the Big 4. We work with the vast majority of Russell Group Universities; most of the largest Housing Associations and Healthcare providers in London. Our audit engagements are household names and with our dedicated Public Sector practice, we are at the forefront of developments, helping our audit engagements to face current pressures and longer term challenges from economic developments and socio political changes. We are looking for Audit Senior Managers with proven experience in audit delivering to a variety of audit engagements in the public sector. You will hold a relevant professional qualification; CA or ACA qualified and possess excellent networking and audit engagements relationship skills. Working with your portfolio of audit engagements you will operate cross functionally with colleagues across all of KPMG's service offerings across the region. You will manage and deliver audit engagements from planning through to completion. The role will require proficiency in IFRS and UK GAAP. You will have your own portfolio of audit engagements with responsibility for agreeing audit timetables, briefing the audit team, monitoring budgets and supervising the KPMG audit process. The specific responsibilities will be: - Establishing and building audit engagements relationships - Assisting with targeting activities as part of KPMG's growth agenda - Planning and project managing a portfolio of audit engagements - Budgeting and monitoring the financial performance of an audit department, focusing on optimising profitability - Leading, inspiring and motivating an audit department, reporting to the audit partner group - Report writing and reviewing for Audit Committees and management reviews - Driving new ways to differentiate KPMG - how can we bring new and innovative ideas to our audit engagements? - Mentoring and coaching junior staff - To manage internal and external engagements, overseeing In-Charge and Audit Assistants work ensuring compliance with audit engagements and statutory requirements and ensuring the effective and timely delivery of engagements - Oversee and direct the budgeting, planning, co-ordination and control of engagements in accordance with audit engagements, statutory and business requirements to ensure effective service delivery and maximised recoverability - Direct, coach and mentor Managers and Assistant Managers to assist them in delivering a service to the required standard on each engagement - Nurture and seek worthwhile relationships with audit engagements, business departments and staff in order to facilitate the sharing of information, and to identify and progress current and future Audit requirements - Contribute towards the creation, implementation and delivery of the Audit Business Plan and offer support in relation to issues identified as a result of organisational or audit engagements focus change - Assist the Director/Partner in monitoring the effectiveness of Audit services delivered, providing feedback and reflection on the quality of service accordingly - Preparation of reports to senior management and audit committees - Involvement in Business Development activity as required Required skills, Qualification & Experience: At KPMG, we think our people really stand out from the crowd.
