Job Description

I am currently looking to speak to Finance Managers who would be interested in working for one of my key clients a leading UK business based in Edinburgh. The Finance Manager has a hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the company. The role will initially be for 2 - 4 months with a strong view to going permanent. The role has become available because a permanent member of the finance team has recently left the business so there is an immediate need Duties cover the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations, including budgeting and forecasting, preparation of management accounts, cash flow management and auditing. The Finance Manager reports to the Director of People and Business Services and liaises with Division Heads, Departmental Managers and Project Managers across the business, supporting them in managing their budgets and financial planning. Responsibilities The Finance Manager is accountable for financial operations and is tasked: * Prepare and present monthly and quarterly management accounts * Group & Joint Venture reporting * Projected billing * Oversee cash flow management * Manage budgeting and forecasting process, including variances * Liaise with RSK auditors for annual monitoring * Deliver on HMRC reporting * Complete VAT returns * Review spending against budget, with individual departments * Present year end accounts * Undertake cost-benefit analysis for financial opportunities * Reconcile balance sheets * Manage finance team of two Essential Criteria 1. Qualified accountant with membership of a CCAB (CIPFA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS) professional accounting body combined with substantial knowledge, skills and competencies gained through experience 2. Strong analytical skills, Excellent communication skills ability to review system issues, diagnose root cause, impact and propose and offer advice on solutions 3.
