We are seeking a financial controller for our UK operations which are located across the UK and Northern Ireland. This role will be based in Birmingham but will require occasional travel to our London office.

Purpose

To provide support to the General Manager Group Reporting in ensuring the UK operation's financial accounting, reporting and internal control activities are carried out in an efficient, timely and effective manner. Job Description This is a critical appointment to our Birmingham office.

As a key member of the senior finance team you will have a direct reporting line to the General Manager Group Reporting. You will oversee a finance team that covers accounts receivable, accounts payable,

treasury, general ledger maintenance and the production of monthly management accounts. Key areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: Ensuring the day to day operations of the financial transactional team results in the accurate and timely recording of entries into the general ledger To prepare financial reports, cash flows and cost reports on a regular basis, ensuring that any financial and management accounting records are accurate and timely To be responsible for ensuring that management and financial accounts are compiled accurately and within a timely manner at the end of the month and each financial year To review all general ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis To support the General Manager Group Reporting in liaising with the offshore Group Head Office and to ensure that the requirements of the Group are met by the operational business units To support the Operational leaders with their daily business unit financial needs Managing the preparation of the detailed year end audit work papers and liaise with the external auditors as required Ensuring existing financial management controls are robust and fit for purpose, whilst ensuring regulatory compliance.

The Successful Applicant You will be part of the senior finance team, and successful candidates will have/be: Experience in managing a transactional finance team with working knowledge of accounting procedures and systems. Experience in a leadership role and driving a high-performance culture A passion for driving change and a track record for delivering continuous improvement. Strong influencing skills - able to network effectively with finance and operational management across the business to build consensus and drive positive change. Competent in the use and purpose of technology with excellent IT skills. Enthusiastic and flexible team player with high expectations of self and others.
