Accounts Assistant - Salary £20,000 - £25,000 + bonus + benefits - Chartered Accountancy Firm - Edinburgh SRGEurope is recruiting for a Chartered Accountancy firm in Edinburgh. My client offers the chance to work with clients in a wide range of sectors. This is an opportunity to join a growing team as an assistant to help support clients' accounting functions both onsite and in our office. The role is about both keeping clients accounting records up to date and enabling them to grow and understand their businesses The Responsibilities: Processing bank transactions and reconciling the bank on accounting softwareRun reports from the accounting softwarePreparing management accounts and commentaryPreparing and filing VAT returnAble to prepare monthly accounting journals (e.g. prepayments / accruals / depreciation / payroll journals)Manage client relationships, be comfortable being onsite and main contact with clientsAssist in taking on new clients, getting new clients set up / processes established The Candidate: Experienced in using Sage 50 Accounts and XeroStrong Excel knowledgeKnowledgeable of VAT and able to prepare VAT returnsBackground in a smaller/similar accounting firm would be advantageousExperience preparing management accounts from core recordsExtensive processing experiencePersonable and confident to be onsite at clients and provide adviceStrong on accounting processes to ensure the work is done as efficiently as possible The Company: Our client's style is personal and they value their strong client relationships and genuinely partner-led service.
