Financial Controller

The company A highly successful, independent business headquartered in Stevenage with a newly created opportunity for a Financial Controller to take full responsibility for the finance function of a recently acquired subsidiary. The job Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be given a high level of autonomy as Financial Controller, with your key responsibilities including: Completion of the monthly management accounts for specific core cost centres. Budgeting and forecasting processes, including monthly profitability and variance analysis. To act as line-manager to the Finance team and to supervise the work of the Finance team. To take responsibility for the production of year-end financial statements. To liaise with the auditors and other professional advisors. To manage and develop financial systems. To develop and implement financial policies and procedures. To oversee all activities related to HMRC tax compliance issues. Other ad hoc tasks when required. The Candidate We are looking for a fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant for the Financial Controller position, ideally with post qualified experience in a similar level role within an SME business. You will be part of the executive management team of the organisation

and therefore we are looking for a strong degree of commercial acumen, as well as the technical accounting skills and staff management experience associated with an autonomous leadership role.
