Our client is an established local charity at the heart of the community in Taunton. It provides a range of facilities and services to those in the town who have a need for additional support including social activities, advice on day to day matters such

as finance/budgeting etc and supported housing. We are seeking a Finance & Commercial Manager, on a full time, permanent basis, to join the Charity in order to lead the finance function and assist in the continued development of the organisation. Based in Taunton (some home working can be considered)

the role attracts a salary of c. £30,000 per annum, dependant on experience. The Role The purpose of this role has two key elements. Firstly, to manage the finance function in a variety of areas including, but not limited to: reviewing and overseeing financial transactions; reconciliation of accounts; journal entries and analysis for monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts;

budgeting; carrying out reporting, analysis and administrative tasks. Secondly, to assist the General Manager in the running of the organisation. This will involve providing support for managing the staff and overseeing the day-to-day running of the Charity. Duties include; Ensuring the financial transactions are made in a correct and timely fashion; Credit control; Journal entries into the general ledger; Produce monthly management accounts; Analysis of monthly management accounts to budget and previous year; Produce an annual budget; Complete relevant tax returns; Payroll; Produce statutory accounts and liaise with the auditors; Other reporting and analysis as required by the Trustees and General Manager as part of the finance function; Implements and maintains policies and practices to ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory obligations; Continually strives to seek improvements in all areas, which are progressed, implemented and reviewed; Carries out any other duties in line with the purpose of this job role where appropriate, including providing holiday cover or other absence for the General Manager. The successful candidate must have; Holds or is studying for an accountancy professional qualification i.e. ACA, CIMA, ACCA is desirable; Desire to be part of a team that is passionate about what they do, always willing to go the extra mile; Previous experience of working in an accounting/finance role; Excellent attention to detail, has the ability to manage time and prioritise correctly in order to meet appropriate deadlines and targets to a high standard, demonstrating both adaptability and flexibility; The ability to learn and use relevant software in order to carry out the tasks for the role, such as Excel, Word and Outlook as well as relevant accounting software; Sound judgement and problem solving skills; Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written; A positive attitude, focused on improving service standards and customer outcomes both internally and externally; Professional, conscientious, objective-driven and quality-minded.
