- Responsible as the Cost Comptroller for CIB/CB business to ensure business cost reporting, attribution and allocation keys are accurate and according to group policy
- Provide strategic advise to business to improve cost efficiency and cost allocation methodology to ensure cost incurred coincide with return expectations
- Participate in business re-engineering process and to identify work flow efficiency, improvement and cost-savings opportunities
- Participate and support the planning team in the annual business plans, forecasting and budget process
- Assist team lead to support monthly management reporting for timely and accurate assessment of CIB/CB segment financial performance against target/pla
- Assist team lead to develop and manage the financial analysis/modeling to support business decisions and initiatives (pricing and campaigns)
- Responsibility also extends to activities supporting Standard Chartered Saadiq Berhad and SCBMB Trustee Berhad.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Cost Management - Acting as a Cost Comptroller for CIB/CB business. To perform monthly cost analysis and to ensure all cost/investments are within budget with accretive value
- Perform analytical review on business performance and prepare business commentary
- Analyze profitability of the business based on various product dynamics/drivers and staff productivity to provide value-added advice and insight to business for decision making.
- Monitor and review accrued expenditure reconciliation and inter-group recharges
- Assist team to prepare accurate and timely local and group management information reports for CIB/CB
- To assist in maintaining financial controls in all CIB-CB units which includes monitoring cost center ownership changes, closing or dormant/unused cost centers and GL accounts
- Work with Business to prepare, plan and translate the business strategies and plans into financially achievable numbers during annual budget process
- Work with Business to prepare forecast reviews and submission to Group Finance
- Prepare financial modeling and projections for business plan
- Contribute to projects affecting CIB-CB aimed at enhancing profitability, efficiency and productivity of business activities / operations
- Ensure compliance with the Group Management Reporting guidelines, Group Accounting policy, Financial Control policy and local regulations
Qualifications and Skills
- Candidate must possess at least a Professional or Bachelor's Degree - Finance/ Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
- At least 6 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position
- Good communication skills in both written and spoken English & Bahasa Malaysia
- Confident with using Ms Excel / Ms Office Tools
