The Finance department is looking for a German accounting specialist in Frankfurt. The new accountant will be a member of a team of 6 and will the subject matter expert on German Gaap accounting (HGB, RechKredV) for banks and income taxes. The role reports to the Head of Finance in Germany.

  • Responsible for maintaining accounting and financial statements for our lending business (profit and loss reporting, balance sheet verification, maintenance of general ledger, etc.).
  • Oversee the reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements; such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital statements.
  • Ensure that all financial reporting is compliant with SEC requirements, US GAAP, German GAAP (HGB/RechKredV) and Income Tax requirements.
  • Preparation of tax accounting statements and disclosures.
  • Manage multiple workstreams concurrently; including audits, budgeting and reporting projects.
  • Partners with outsourced vendors, including external auditors, and manage these relationships on behalf of the firm.

You Offer

  • University degree or relevant apprenticeship, e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter, Steuerfachangestellter (both m/f/d)
  • Previous experience in Finance as a Financial Accountant and / or Financial Analyst would be a plus
  • Good understanding of business specific accounting principles, financial reporting and budgeting as well as auditing procedures / tools, and their application in a partnership / fund context.
  • Ability to lead financial budgeting / forecasting exercises, and analysis of financial statements and cash / capital management processes.
  • Experience in working on projects and change initiatives; working experience in a consulting or audit firm would be an asset.
  • Fluency in German and English essential
