The Risk and Control team provides the Home Buying, Third Party Banking (TPB), and Residential Mortgage Group (RMG) businesses with the visibility and tools to effectively manage and optimise their risk and control framework.

Working in the Home Buying Risk Delivery Team, you will be providing risk advice to Home Buying business owners, building and maintaining governance and oversight of the Home Buying issues and incidents portfolio, as well managing the prioritisation and allocation of small risk system fixes. This exciting opportunity exists to drive risk reduction through incident and issue closure across the Home Buying portfolio.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, inspire, build and develop your team
  • Work with your team and partner with business stakeholders to identify, assess and appropriately raise issues and incidents.
  • Proactive engagement with key stakeholders in the business to ensure incidents/issues are progressing to closure.
  • Providing advice and guidance in accordance to the RBS risk management framework.
  • Drive the risk culture and awareness within Home Buying.
  • Maintain reporting for issues and incidents to ensure visibility across the business, at all levels of management.
  • Managing issue and incident pipeline including the escalation and approval of any extensions to issues or incidents and ensuring appropriate action has been taken to close out issues and incidents.
  • Understand the evolution of RBS’s risk framework and other Group policies and assist the business to comply with risk management policy.

  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills, with proven ability to self-motivate.
  • Organised, methodical and strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to identify critical threats and opportunities, diagnose and break down problems and issues, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to succinctly articulate a problem and solution.
  • The capacity to work in a busy, commercial, competitive environment.
  • Highly collaborative work style.
  • People leadership experience is preferred, but not essential
