Description

Position purpose/ summary

Reporting to the Finance Manager the main purpose of the Part Time Accountant is to support the Finance Manager in all financial aspects of the business.

  • Assist in full period end accounting
  • Manage purchase ledger/ invoices/coding/payments/creating payment runs for Finance Managers approval
  • Manage sales ledger/raising invoices/debt collection.
  • Posting bank entries and reconciling bank for month end.
  • Recording and reconciling companies credit card/petty cash purchases and producing month end journal.
  • Posting staff expenses and checking that we are compliant with HMRC and our Expenses policy
  • Maintaining our Fixed Asset register and relevant invoices and ensuring all assets are tagged.
  • Maintain log of our Purchase Orders
  • Producing the monthly payroll spreadsheet ready for Finance Managers approval
  • Balance Sheet Reviews
  • Stock Control
  • Assist the Finance Manager and support the Finance function with the other departments.

Profile

Required knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Solid finance understanding of double entry bookkeeping and exposure to month end accounting with bank reconciliations and payment runs
  • Excel skills
  • Sage 50 Knowledge a bonus but not essential.
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills
  • Able to work alone or as part of team to achieve objectives.
  • Well organised and self-motivated.
  • Professional and positive personality
  • Good knowledge of the fitness industry or franchising or the retail industry.
  • Full driving licence
  • Within local proximity to Milton Keynes
