The Role
Here at Hain Daniels we are currently recruiting for an Operations Accountant at our Grimsby site. Here, we manufacture fresh soups and ready meals, for our own brands, under license, and for private label products.
Provide support and challenge to site management team with regard to financial and operational performance - providing financial analysis and KPIs, commentary and proposals for improvement. Preparation of robust monthly management accounts for the site and preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasts. Production and critique of capital expenditure and CI proposals. Provision of analysis for decision making purposes, including review and validation of costings, SKU performance and profitability. Interaction and collaboration with other fruit sites and group finance. Involvement in ad-hoc projects.
The responsibility is for our Soup sites, in Grimsby and Leeming Bar, with your main site based at Grimsby. However, there will be a need to be available to attend meetings at other site and more occasionally across the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of Standard costs and Labour standards - including regular review, new product launches and ad hoc queries.
- Preparation of analysis and commentary relating to key factory performance indicators.
- Working with factory teams to improve performance through financial support on projects and costings.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Capital expenditure and CI proposals - support and challenge for proposed projects.
- Decision support providing guidance and challenge.
- Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
What you will need for the role / what it will take
- You will be a Qualified Accountant, with 3 years' experience in industry.
- Robust individual who can partner and independently challenge multi-functional site management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively as well as independently.
- High degree of task / delivery focus.
- Excellent numerical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrable understanding of operational issues and the impact on commercial decision making.
