We are seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position in the Credit Control Department:
ASSISTANT CREDIT CONTROLLER
Major Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
* Records and maintains postdated cheque register, ensuring they are entered onto spreadsheet on a daily basis, then batched and balanced for daily bank deposits
* Reviews and authorizes credit notes for accuracy and timely completion
* Assists with the approval of customers' orders in line with the approved credit and litigation policy
* Handles queries from sales staff, customers and the warehouse, ensuring adequate research and solutions are administered on a timely basis, by recommending adjustments to be made to accounts as needed including contra adjustments, journals and write offs.
* Oversees the coding and batching of cash receipts for data entry daily
* Processes manual credit notes for sponsorship, vat and any other anomaly situations arising
* Codes and reconciles credit receipts with customers' accounts
* Assists in ensuring the Credit Application process is administered to in line with the approved credit control and litigation policies manual
* Ensures lists are prepared and credit notes for key customers are dispatched on a weekly basis
* Assists Credit Controllers with the execution of the dishonoured cheque policy as needed
* Ensures all receivable accounts in the range $5K to $10K are reconciled accurately and on a timely basis, and suitable follow up of all items is executed and adjustments made on accounts as necessary
* Maintains an efficient filing system to allow for easy retrieval and processing
Knowledge & Experience:
* A minimum of three (3) CAPE/A Level passes
* A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar role
* Knowledge of an Accounting software package
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
