You will be working in partnership with all business units across RBS including FAS, Product and other channels, Line 1 and Line 2 – through investigating and leading your own projects designed to resolve issues and incidents which could cause risk in our business, engaging and positively challenging processes and controls.
Your responsibilities
The objective of the role will be to lead your own prioritised project and reviews designed to enable a material uplift on our business. This will involve a mix of BAU risk management activities, as well as supporting related key projects across the business.
- Perform deep diagnostic reviews on issues and providing robust insights to help inform change/project requirements
- Lead and own projects from end to end, from identification of issues through to embedding resolution
- Engage and influence multiple stakeholders (internal and external to FAS) to ensure the successful delivery of agreed projects on time
- Raise, investigate, document and resolve potential issues which may impact our customers
- Work with the business to address identified controls gaps and recommend process improvements
- Take ownership of agreed actions through engaging with multiple stakeholders, facilitating workshops, developing training packs and communications, with follow up activities to support the success of the change.
- Be a risk culture change advocate and helping to embed a risk and control awareness across the business
What will help you succeed?
- A strong collections background is essential
- Demonstrated project/ change management experience
- Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills which drive exceptional performance in a fast paced environment
- Strong understanding of the FAS business
- Strong Risk Mindset
- Strong knowledge of retail banking, with knowledge of call centres and collections a distinct advantage
- Strong desire to get curious and dig deep into issues which can identify critical threats and opportunities and take action to resolve accordingly
- Ability to analyse trends, diagnose problems and issues and then recommend appropriate actions dealing with the underlying root causes
- Able to work on many projects concurrently, and successfully navigate conflicting priorities
What's in it for you?
The role provides exposure across the Direct Channels business and a wide range of stakeholders in RBS and across the Group. If you live the values and demonstrate the people capabilities we can offer great opportunities. Whether you want to move across the organisation or up into a leadership role, the way you live the values and demonstrate the people capabilities are key.
