The Company
A leading global multi-industry company is looking for a Project Finance & Support Manager for their Dubai operation covering the Middle East.

The Role
This position is primarily responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements consistent with "best-in-class" standards and all applicable regulations. This includes developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures that support financial reporting. The Financial Reporting Manager works closely with other business units to ensure accurate accounting of intercompany relationships and proper consolidation as required. In addition, this position will be responsible for corporate compliance and oversee internal controls over financial reporting and entity-level controls.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
*Ensure accounting and financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures for the 2 local entities in UAE and oversee accounting of intercompany transactions
*Prepare and file all local tax returns in UAE (i.e.: VAT)
*Coordinate, develop and update written accounting policies and procedures over the financial reporting process with (i.e.: Finance Manual)
*Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting
*Assist with business development and merger activity including due diligence, preparation of purchase accounting work papers and integrating financial reporting
*Preparing month end reports with analysis and commentary on the financial results
*Prepare the annual report and interim financial statements of the Group and take ownership of accounting for all of the Group's subsidiary entities along with preparing consolidated financial statements.
*Coordinate the interim and annual financial statement and statutory audits for all Group entities
*Manage month-end and year-end closing process across the entities of the Group including the reconciliation of intercompany transactions
*Develop and maintain the integrity of the monthly/quarterly financial reporting process and financial controls (i.e.: reporting package and supporting analysis)
*Ensure compliance with IFRS and responsible for evaluating new accounting standards and update, and implementing necessary changes in policies, procedures Group-wide
*Perform research and provides technical accounting guidance for all Group entities, including preparation of whitepapers on accounting positions
*Own and lead the external auditor's relationship for all Group entities
*Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes; help develop process documentation to enable cross-training within the department Group wide
*Manage tasks within agreed timetable including booking relevant review meetings with senior management
*Critically appraise all processes and assumptions on an ongoing basis with a 'continual improvement outlook' and proactively engage with relevant stakeholders to improve where opportunity exists
*Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures as well as financial systems for new local structures
*Ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Supervisor.

The Candidate
*Qualified Accountant
*BS degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
*5+ years related working experience (i.e.: audit experience) with 2+ years in a supervisory/leadership capacity
*Strong technical knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
*Proficient in English and French, both spoken and written
*Proficient in MS Office Suite (i.e.: proficiency in using Excel, and preparing spreadsheet reports), and accounting software (i.e.: Sage)
*Hands-on individual with strong teamwork orientation
*Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
*Good knowledge of best practices in internal controls
*Traveling might be required

Salary and Benefits
Up to 38,000aed per month
