Overview
East West Bank is currently seeking a Managing Director. The managing director oversees commercial lending focusing on originating, structuring, underwriting and documentation. Manages and recommends lending objectives and practices; responsible for large asset loan portfolios; establishes lending goals and performance levels for relationship managers according to goals set by EWB. Managing Director is also responsible to grow client base and portfolio in loans, deposits and fees within the commercial market. Senior responsibility for the evaluation of the client’s financing needs and objectives, recommendation of the appropriate financial solution, and transaction execution; and will maximize new business generation to enhance EWB’s client relationships.

Responsibilities
- Through known and developed prospects, originate loans that fit the Bank’s risk profile for asset based finance loans.
- Contribute to the creation and enforcement of credit policies and procedures.
- Conduct marketing activities, identify and source finance opportunities that conform to EWB’s business strategy and credit policies.
- Establish dialogue and foster direct relationships with EWB clients that have been identified as candidates for Asset Finance.
- Maintain an expert level of knowledge in Asset Finance products.
- Oversee a team of relationship managers structuring, writing and closing commercial asset based finance loans.
- Responsible for the supervision of the staff including: hiring, development, training and performance management.
- Evaluate credit worthiness and escalated risks in accordance with regulations and Bank policy.
- Assist in the restructure of adversely-graded loans and the foreclosure of problem loans, performing activities designed to preserve the loan principal, gather interest as possible and prevent the loan from being charged-off.
- Present credit offerings to senior management and be able to respond knowledgeably and confidently to management.
- Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 7-10 years of experience with Asset Based Finance, Global Cash Flow and Loan Workouts.
- 7+ years of progressive management responsibilities.
- Excellent understanding of financial institution departments and activities.
- Demonstrates great customer service via phone and email.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending policies and procedures, credit/financial statement analysis, loan structuring, and global cash flow analysis.
- Ability to close, prospect and have sales planning
- Good communication and organizational skills.
