Within JPMorgan's Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) is the Finance& Business Management function. F&BM's goals are to ensure soundcontrol environments and provide financial advice to support the businessstrategy.

J.P. Morgan has the leading Global Credit Trading business in terms ofvolume traded, issuers traded and investor relationships. J.P. Morgan GlobalCredit Trading offers first-class, highly integrated financial services to aglobal client base and provides financial assets and liquidity for banks,insurance companies, finance companies, mutual funds and hedge funds. Traders,salespeople and research analysts work collectively to generate ideas and makesecondary markets and proprietary investments in high grade bonds/CDS, highyield bonds/CDS, distressed bonds, trade claims, indices, flow exotics,and illiquids.
Global Syndicate works in partnership with origination, capital marketsand the secondary credit trading desk to combine superior debt origination andstructuring expertise with exceptional distribution and trading capabilities toa large investor base.

Role Description:
Global Credit Trading is looking to hire a dynamic, self-motivatedSenior Associate level Business Manager to bebased out of NY. Through their previous experience the individual would havegained the ability to effectively partner with and influence areas such asTechnology, Finance, Operations, Clearinghouse Risk, Compliance, etc. Itis a time-pressured and high-profile position which is instrumental inassisting/advising senior management and in coordinating the deployment of thebank's corporate resources to address strategic and tactical objectives.
The role of a business manager is dynamic and can vary from business tobusiness, in line with the priorities of the different lines of business.Functionally the role will report into the Global Credit Trading &Syndicate Business Management and the main aim of a Business Manager is to:
  • Act as trusted advisor and counterweight to Business Head(s)
  • Optimize 'bottom line' business performance by driving key initiatives(brokerage, fees, cost base, RWA and capital utilization)
  • Identify, escalate and mitigate business risks that could impair ourability to do business: e.g. legal, tax, regulatory, capacity issues,extraordinary transaction costs)
  • Partnership with the business, Operations and Technology in thedefinition of future workflows and implementation of related technology andinfrastructure projects to prepare the business to meet the requirements of anever evolving market structure.
  • Partnership with the relevant external service/ infrastructureproviders.
  • Business representation in respective internal/external working groups

The successful candidate will be able to work independently to identify and resolve business risks, partner effectively with the relevant Credit aligned support teams and other functional teams, and deliver projects efficiently. We are looking for someone who has the following skills/qualities:
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area
  • In depth understanding of the end-to-end flows and infrastructure of a derivatives and/ or securities business
  • Previous product knowledge, ideally in the Credit Markets area
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent partnership skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various businesses and key support functions
  • Ability to both define and deliver to conclusion a strategic agenda across multiple groups
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and within an environment of rapidly changing priorities
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
  • Attention to detail with logical thought process
  • Creative thinker with strategic mindset
