Reporting to the Head of Accounting – EMEA and APAC, the Financial Controls and Monitoring (FC&M) team are one of four teams that make up the controllership team within Finance and are directly responsible for the completion and filing of all external reporting. This includes all regulatory reporting and statistical returns in EMEA and APAC regions. We manage and maintain the balance sheet of all companies within the EMEA and APAC groups and ensures all accounts are fully reconciled and meets internal SOX guidelines as set out by the parent company, Ameriprise. A key responsibility for the team is to work closely with Ameriprise Finance team to ensure that the EMEA and APAC consolidations are correct and flow through into the overall group consolidation correctly. The overall work the team covers is vast as highlighted within the role responsibility. The team works closely with several teams from around the organisation which includes the technical accounting and Statutory reporting team which offers exciting opportunities to learn about reporting within different jurisdictions around the world. Due to staff movements and the expansion of work within the team a Senior Associate role has become available for a Financial Accountant. How you’ll spend your time… * Preparing Columbia Threadneedle group and individual company Regulatory Reporting for EMEA and APAC legal entities. * Preparation of Statistical and other external reporting for the Columbia Threadneedle group as well as for EMEA and APAC individual legal entities. * Completion and review of specific Balance Sheet Reconciliations for EMEA and APAC group to ensure all controls as set out by Ameriprise have been met. * Ensuring Client Money reconciliations, managed by third party provider, are completed correctly and on a timely basis within the rules stipulated by the FCA. * Management of Intercompany accounts for EMEA and APAC companies including investigation and resolution of any out of balance relationships as well as correction of any erroneous entries. * Assist Group Statutory Accountant with production of Company Statutory Accounts. * Accounting for Group seed money including correct accounting for redemptions made. * Involvement with calculation of group and individual EMEA and APAC company capital requirements. * Maintain relationships with 3rd Party accounting providers. * Assist with investigation and problem resolution of any accounting issues that arise within PeopleSoft accounting software. To be successful in this role you will have…* Newly qualified ACCA/CIMA or a recognised CCAB qualification. With strong technical background * Self-starter with positive attitude * Excellent written and spoken communication skills. * Strong excel skills like vlookups, sumifs, pivots etc. * Sets high personal goals and strives for continual improvement. * Has a flexible attitude to work and can work well in a multi-tasking, dynamic environment. x To be successful in this role you will have… * Newly qualified ACCA/CIMA or a recognised CCAB qualification.
