The Opportunity The South East Region spans across six offices and is a growth priority for the board. We're looking for a Senior Manager to join our successful and dynamic regional tax team with ambitious growth plans. You will be responsible for managing an established team and providing excellent quality advisory services to a high profile portfolio of both UK and multinational clients ranging in size from £50m - £20bn+ turnover.

A Corporate Tax Senior Manager is required to work in the Reading/Uxbridge office as part of the South East Large Corporate tax team.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to being:-

  • Your responsibilities will predominantly be focussed on advisory work as tax compliance work is delivered from our compliance centre. You will be responsible for helping to manage an established team and providing excellent quality advisory services to a high profile portfolio of both UK and multinational clients.
  • There will also be opportunities to develop deeper knowledge in particular areas of interest such as group reorganisations, BEPS planning, divestments and acquisitions.
  • You will be responsible for building close relationships with a wide range of clients, working as part of a team and delivering the Firms tax services. You will benefit from a progressive environment where you will be encouraged to develop client relationships, technical and people management skills.
  • In addition to managing the corporation tax affairs for a portfolio of clients, the appointed individual will lead a team of corporate tax managers and associates responsible for the delivery of taxation services to a wide range of clients.
  • As a Senior Manager you will have the opportunity to work with experienced Partners and Directors across the South East region. The team will provide you with the opportunity to put into practice your tax technical skills in a stimulating and challenging environment.

Essential skills and experience
  • CTA or ACA qualified (or overseas equivalent) with extensive PQE or a fully trained Inspector of Taxes or Tax Lawyer with corporate tax experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently and knowledgeably with PwC staff and partners at all levels across the business, as well as with senior client management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong internal networks and client relationships
  • Demonstrable experience of successful client management
  • Efficiently planning and delivering work, taking responsibility for budgeting, resourcing, billing and compliance and demonstrating an awareness of risk management issues, managing own workload as well as junior members of the team
  • Experience of developing new opportunities and taking a pro-active approach to winning work
  • Taking advantage of new opportunities for learning, sharing new knowledge, being intellectually agile and thinking creatively
  • Proven team-management experience, including supporting the development of junior members of the team and being a team player
  • Ability to think creatively to solve client needs.
  • Delivering quality work for clients, demonstrating an understanding of the client's business and relevant professional standards and maintaining respectful client relationships.
  • Developing and applying a high level of skills, knowledge and standards and staying current with technology and industry trends.
  • Demonstrating leadership, modifying behaviours to work effectively with others, respecting and valuing all people and encouraging different perspectives.
  • Promptly addressing problems, challenging the questionable behaviour of others and maintaining standards of professionalism.
