Financial Accountant- UKI Statutory Senior Analyst

Our Global Finance team works at the heart of Dublin’s digital docklands to provide strategic, operational and analytical support across Accenture’s Global businesses. We drive career progression and skills development because we recognise that we succeed only when our people grow.

The Financial Accountant will partner with the UK and Ireland Country Controllership team to manage the statutory preparation for internal Accenture entities in UK and Ireland with an aggregate turnover of more than 3 Billion of Euro.

Responsibilities

  • Involved in the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements for the UK and Ireland entities in line with filing deadlines
  • Preparation of supporting schedules and working papers for the annual Statutory Audit
  • Drafting of accounting treatment memorandums
  • Preparation of reconciliations between the UKI statutory and US GAAP Ledgers
  • Liaising with auditors, answering queries and providing data as required
  • Review and analysis of the Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet
  • Ensure integrity and completeness of financial records
  • Test and evaluate internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley on a quarterly basis for AEE (Accenture Europe)
  • Perform internal controls testing on statutory financial statements
  • Involved in the accounting for acquisitions and liquidations
  • Provide accounting support to the Team Lead/Manager including responses to ad hoc requests
  • Meet key reporting deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and provide cross team support as required
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement projects
  • Provide reporting to management on issues, statistics, metrics and projects
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Knowledge of Accounting Principles
  • Analytical and computer skills preferably MS Office (Excel, Word)
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and flexibility
  • Customer focused
  • Sense of responsibility, initiative and high quality work standards
  • Strong team working skills
  • Prior experience of SAP an advantage
  • Fluency in English is required

Qualifications/Experience

  • Degree in Business, Finance or equivalent qualification would be preferable
  • Min. 2+ years’ experience in an accounting environment, preferably in a practice environment
  • Undertaking professional examinations
