Tax Accountant

Tax Accountant Job description: Glanbia plc is currently seeking to recruit a Tax Accountant at Glanbia House, Kilkenny. This is a 1 year fixed term contract position and will report to the Head of Tax . Key responsibilities: Preparation of detailed tax charge forecasts for Ireland and UK divisions; Computation of the actual tax charge for year-end reporting of Group results; Preparation of supporting files for each statutory company and provision of information in response to queries from external tax advisors; Preparation of final detailed computations for submission to Tax Authorities; Review and editing of detailed P&L accounts and supporting schedules; Responding to ad hoc queries from Divisions concerning Corporation tax, VAT, PAYE, Relevant Contractors Tax, etc.; General involvement in ad hoc projects and overall Group strategic planning initiatives, progressing to direct responsibility for specific projects and tax planning. Desired skills and experience: Professional qualifications - Accounting and Tax (ACA/ACCA and AITI) - attained in a professional office; 2-3 years post qualification experience. Strong Microsoft Excel skills; Experience with Alphatax, SAP and WORD would be an advantage; Excellent project management skills with commitment to meet tight deadlines; Commercially astute with strong business acumen; Strong communication skills, including report writing; Ability to work both on your own initiative and within a team environment to deliver Group Tax's significant value added brief; A limited amount of travel may be required from time to time.
