We have an exciting opportunity for two Trainee Chartered Accountants to start with us in June 2017.
You will be providing a comprehensive accountancy service to Atkinson & Co clients and supporting the qualified members of staff as directed by the Directors and the Practice Manager.
The Key Tasks & Responsibilities for this role will include;
Accounts
Other Any other ad-hoc duties as directed by the Practice Partner or Director
Requirements We require a minimum 2:1 Honours degree in a relevant degree subject to be considered for this position
Additional Skills The successful candidates must:
Personal requirements We are looking for dedicated, motivated and personable individuals who will be able to integrate with our team, provide excellent client service and be capable of completing the challenging Chartered Accountancy qualification. They must have a relevant degree and preferably full exemptions for the ACCA professional examinations. Candidates must be able to work well under pressure and be able to meet deadlines as they fall due. We envisage a starting date in June 2017
Company information We are an established firm of Chartered Accountants, based in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire. We have two partners, ten staff and are expanding steadily. We are looking to recruit two new students as part of our growing team. Our client base is mainly family owned businesses and our ethos is to provide the best service we can to all our clients across all the services we provide. Our staff are all either qualified accountants or are in training to become qualified. We offer the full range of accountancy services, (excluding audit) across a wide range of industries and the successful candidates can expect to receive a comprehensive training which will equip them to become effective accountants when they qualify.
BenefitsAfter 3 Months service you will become eligible for pension and health insurance benefits as well as a very generous 6 weeks holiday per annum and study package for examinations.

- Prepare accounts to final partner sign-off for sole traders, partnerships, charities and small Limited Companies
- Undertake accountancy work for larger clients as directed
- Bookkeeping work leading to completion of VAT Returns
- Payroll and Construction Industry Scheme
- Company secretarial work
- Completion of personal and company tax returns
- Preparation of Management Accounts

- Be quick learners who are committed and motivated to studying towards the Chartered Accountant qualification;
- Be good communicators who enjoy working within a team environment;
- Have an ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

- Be pro-active with regards to their own development and a desire to succeed and progress.
