Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of UK FCC Sanctions Manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Have oversight and accountability for the provision of SME's, dispensations and licences for customers. Providing advice and recommendations for specific business risks and products
  • Oversee for the provision of support to Business Risk Committees and Sanctions Advisory Teams. Providing oversight and SME knowledge to Operations for the annual completion of Enterprise-wide Risk Assessment (EWRA)
  • Collaborate with the Operational leads to ensure that all relevant LoB training has been completed and feed into FCC Education.
  • Challenge and identify any potential Sanctions risk inherent in global line of business decisions and client activity through line manager.
  • Liaise with Sanctions Manager to update relevant stakeholders within Global FCC, Regional FCC, and Country FCC teams to provide expertise and support on all Sanctions related matters.
  • Work collegiately with Internal Audit to ensure effective deployment of agreed audit strategies, providing support to all Sanctions Advisory actions.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. sanctions and Anti Money Laundering (AML).
  • Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
  • Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.
  • A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting.
