To carry out a range of professional accountancy duties to assist in planning, budget management and decision making, ensuring maximisation of income and deployment of resources in an effective, efficient and economic manner. The post-holder will work closely with budget managers at all levels, providing financial advice, guidance and analysis.

Description
This role will involve elements of information management, research and costing including:
To assist with the preparation of the school's annual budget plan and future year forecasts
- To assist with the allocation of agreed budgets by subject area and account code and set-up in Agresso
- To manage the devolved budget within the school, including authorisation levels in accordance with university regulation
- To provide information to update forecasts of income and expenditure
- To provide financial analysis of research projects in the school.
- To assist with providing costing information in support of research grant applications
- To check expenditure on research grants to ensure that it is valid
- To provide costing and pricing analyses for new projects (eg short courses, grants, collaborations, new programmes) to assist decision making by the school.
- To contribute to the allocation of service and corporate costs to schools, subjects and programmes.
- To ensure that all financial transactions are coded correctly.
- To manage the financial year-end processes on behalf of the school, ensuring compliance with statutory and university requirements.
Profile
The successful candidate will:
- Be fully qualified (ACCA or equivalent)
- Have experience in handling budgets
- Experience in costing analysis
- Experience in handling year-end processes
- Worked within the education sector in a similar role
