Enterprise Services (ES) delivers the Group’s information technology and banking operations functions to ensure the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation.

The Regulatory and Control Operations (RACO) team oversees our operations work relating to our financial crime compliance obligations, such as anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing, sanctions, financial crimes intelligence, and corresponding banking due diligence.

The Regulatory and Control Operations team has 2 operations teams – Financial Crime Operations based in Sydney and International Operations based in New Zealand.

The RACO team is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing leadership of the Group’s financial crime shared services. RACO leads the Group’s approach to managing Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF), Sanctions risks and Customer Verification Services (KYC / CRS)

Do work that matters:

As Risk Manager, you will play a senior role within the team accountable for the strengthening, embedding and ongoing improvement of the risk and control environment across RACO. You will be part of a dynamic and exciting team focused on delivering a high-quality risk management service for RACO and the CBA Group.

You’ll work closely with Business Partners including Technology, Product, Project teams such as POA across the risk community to strengthen and support effective Operational Risk and Compliance and perform monitoring and assurance for key compliance activities occurring within RACO, and play a key role in the execution of strategic initiatives within ES Risk and Controls to improve team effectiveness and performance, drive capability uplift activity and contribute to a strong and proactive risk culture.

On any given day you will:

  • Understand the transformation of Group Regulatory Operation strategy changing the Businesses’ key risks and controls and identify mitigations to unforeseen risks across during design or implementation of change initiatives
  • Provide operational and compliance risk advice to the Business on design of controls in the scoping stage to design for the future in mind in accordance within our risk appetite framework.
  • Provide operational and compliance risk advice to the Business on design of controls in the scoping stage to design for the future
  • Develop and drive execution of the risk and control environment strategy supporting the business partner’s strategy across Retail, Business and Institutional Banking businesses.
  • Provide operational and compliance risk advice to the business on procedural and risk management issues under the Risk, Controls and Self Assessments (RCSA) and compliance attestations requirements that fall under CPS220 , CPS 231 and CPS232.
  • Develop and produce executive reporting to provide insights on across the portfolio from a risk in change lens and for senior management decisions in project steering groups.
  • Act as a conduit for Audit internal and external for GRO Business and manage the change and timetable of scheduled reviews.
  • Partner with the business owner on strategic projects for the Risk in Change assessments and resolve with Business Partner change initiatives across the GRO impacted processes.
  • Act as a champion for change around risk culture
  • Maintain various databases (including RiskInSite), monthly management reporting and Control Self-Assessment Programs (CAP)

We're interested in hearing from people who possess a combination of the below

  • CA or CPA degree or any relevant tertiary qualifications in finance or risk management
  • CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, CISM, ITIL, COBIT or other IT Risk related certifications
  • Experience in Operational Risk management and ideally Technology Risk and Compliance
  • A sound understanding and knowledge of the risk and control environment and framework with proven experience with operational and compliance risks
  • Knowledge of financial crime compliance obligations, such as anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing and sanctions, financial crimes intelligence, and corresponding banking due diligence.
