Job Description:

Purpose Of Role:

  • To manage the ERM COE site under ERM Poland strategy [Gdansk location]
  • To effectively manage delivery of processes performed by Risk groups and provide infrastructural support to extensions of the in-market teams located at the ERM COE in Gdansk
  • To coordinate processes currently in transition
  • To work in partnership other service centers and / or outsourcing business partners within a network of service centers
  • To drive and to promote quality and process improvement initiatives on regional and global level
  • To promote best practices across functions and across countries within given area of scope
  • To attract, develop and retain ERM talents
  • To be a change agent capable of identifying operational and process improvements, finding and harnessing efficiencies

Specific Duties:

In terms of Management of the delivery team, ERM COE Site Manager:

  • Is responsible for recruitment and retention of high quality ERM COE Operational and Management staff.
  • Manages performance and development of staff members and recommends salary increases, promotions and bonuses.
  • Manages the assignment of responsibilities and resources for the effective development of project plans and assure the timely completion of projects.
  • Executed policies and procedures.
  • Provides coaching and guidance and ensure the department's training/resource needs are addressed.
  • Enforces operational procedures and demonstrates a thorough understanding of the department's responsibilities - reviews / revises department procedures in line with regulatory and/or effective workflow requirements.
  • Engages ERM management when appropriate, escalates issues that impact workflow / resources, offers solutions to problems and seeks approval to ensure course of action has been agreed.
  • Works with Head of ERM COE, ERM BU and stakeholders to ensure appropriate controls are in place to support favorable ratings on audits and regulatory reviews.
  • When and where applicable manages Transition processes
  • Is a team player to build an atmosphere of co-operation within the bank.
  • Actively fosters and promotes the spirit of teamwork to staff

  • Keeps the group focused on achieving goals
  • Is responsible for developing and describing goals for managers' and their teams annually.
  • Is responsible for monitoring and appraising performance of managers' and their teams - providing regular formal and informal feedback to the direct Manager.
  • Actively participates in/ co-leads company committee's work and initiatives aiming at fostering better work environment and building employees' engagement.
  • Is responsible for monitoring and managing productivity and efficiency within the Gdansk ERM center

In terms of Management of Service Quality, ERM COE Site Manager:

  • Takes responsibility for the quality of service to assigned clients.
  • Helps to maintain standards of personal and professional performance/behavior among team colleagues ensuring their accountability and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Supports his/her direct Managers, Team Leaders and their teams in ensuring the best service delivery upon agreed service delivery levels and/or operational agreement levels; support his/her direct manager in performing internal controls for all team deliverables.
  • Ensures adherence to Company and Departmental policies and procedures.
  • Is responsible for ensuring that contingency plans exist for the work of the team and where necessary contribute to the business continuity plans and tests.
  • Performs general monitoring and internal control over team deliverables and other, as assigned by his/her direct Manager.

In terms of Relationships Management ERM COE Site Manager:

  • Maintains close contact with his/her direct Manager/s, briefing him/her on all issues and problems both actual and potential.
  • Develops and maintain good relationships with relevant colleagues in other company's departments and contacts within in-market teams, global process owners and at a corporate level.
  • Acts as focal point for contacts and meetings with Clients at tactical and operational level.
  • Participates in Service Reviews, operational partnership and ad hoc Client/ in-market team site meetings as requested accordingly to his/her role.

In terms of Communication ERM COE Site Manager:

  • Conducts regular and structured team meetings on tactical and operational level, ensuring action points are followed up.
  • Supports managers in establish and maintaining good working relationships with in-market teams and colleagues, communicating effectively through formalised reporting and ad hoc liaison.
  • Ensures effective logging and resolution of enquiries and liaise with appropriate parties to resolve/ escalate queries / problems within agreed timescales [in agreement with his/her direct manager, depending on situation he/she may resolve/escalate on his/her own responsibility].
  • Represents the ERM COE within the local management framework in Gdansk and communicates effectively and collaboratively both at a tactical and operational level amongst local departmental/operational peers.

Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Fluency in English
  • Very good numerical and analytical skills
  • Very good working knowledge of Excel
  • Very good working knowledge of Power Point
  • Very good self and team time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills as well as task hierarchy set up skills
  • Ability to observing and preventing potential issues; being proactive
  • Good knowledge of in-market team/Client language, at least [if different than English]

Level Of Education:

  • Master Degree in Finance, Accountancy or Business related degree [MBA degree and/or certified qualification like: ACCA, CIMA, CPA, etc. will be an asset]
  • Obtained or studying towards obtaining a professional ERM qualification would be advantageous

Previous Level Of Experience:

  • Professional experience in risk and/or other relevant according to company's management assessment.
  • Documented experience in people management.
  • Experience operating at a global level amongst a diverse set of peers and with leading teams through disruptive change
