Cbus is one of Australia's largest industry superannuation funds and the national industry fund for the construction, building, infrastructure and allied industries. Established in 1984, Cbus provides superannuation benefits to approximately 732,000 members, has assets around $39 billion, and accepts contributions from more than 108,000 employers. Cbus is genuinely committed to delivering workplace diversity, inclusion and flexible working arrangements as an enabler of our purpose - to act in the best interest of our members and maximise their retirement outcomes.

Cbus is in the process of expanding its Portfolio Design Team to include an additional Investment Analyst. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior members of the Portfolio Design Team and other members of the Investment Management Team. The primary responsibility of the Portfolio Design Team is to set the asset allocation of Cbus' diversified investment options. In setting the Fund's asset allocation, Cbus uses a "total portfolio" approach for portfolio construction, with the aim of maximising the benefits of insights across its broader Investment Management Team as opposed to managing asset allocation and each asset class portfolio independently.

To be successful in this role you will need a strong academic background ideally with tertiary qualifications in economics and/or finance and proven experience working within the financial services sector. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a strong interest in financial markets and the underlying drivers of asset class returns. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are paramount as are excellent verbal and written communication skills as you will need to communicate findings within the Portfolio Design Team and to other members of the broader Investment Team.
