VWR International currently has a requirement for a full-time General Ledger Assistant. KEY TASKS - MAJOR JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES General •Maintain good network and hardcopy filing of records •Assist with projects and process enhancements •Work with Auditors, both internal & external when required Reporting •Prepare reports for business units such as daily sales tracker, monthly reporting packs and pipeline reports. General Ledger •Post month end general ledger journals •Prepare month end accruals for Financial Controller approval •Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations •Manage the day to day maintenance of the P&L and Balance sheet. Regulatory •Run ledger VAT reports monthly •Prepare VAT returns •Prepare  monthly Excise Duty Revenue returns •Prepare Intrastat & VIES Reporting on a monthly basis •Prepare annual 46G return SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE •Interest in pursuing a professional qualification •Minimum of 1 years experience in an accounting environment •SAP experience is most desirable but Oracle, Sun Accounts or SAGE is acceptable •Advanced Excel (Vlookups, Hlookups, SumIfs, Pivot Tables, basic Macros) •Numerate, accurate and precise attention to detail •Strong interpersonal skills with a professional manner •Ability to work in a dynamic environment and meet specific deadlines •Clear communication, both written and verbal •Team Player & self motivated individual
