This Commercial Accountant position is a challenging role based within a busy accountancy function based in Chester you will be working on various projects working to analyse and increase profits and streamline accountancy processes. You will be working closely with the financial director supporting new business growth.

Description

The Commercial Accountant is responsible for the provision and interpretation of financial and management information to support and inform the local management team in the day to day management of the business. The Commercial Accountant will report on typically £25-£50m of revenue depending on business segment including preparation of monthly management reporting, quarterly forecasts and annual business plans.

  • Provision of front line support to business segment management including attending local contract management and customer meetings where required, ensuring early warnings of deviation to Forecast are provided to local management.
  • Preparation of business segment/overhead monthly management accounts and reporting packs including full commentary and analysis.
  • Completion of weekly cash forecasts and management of local working capital.
  • Completion of quarterly rolling forecasts and annual plans and forecasts for business segment.
  • Balance sheet analysis.
  • Manage the interface between the business segment and relevant shared service or local support functions to ensure compliance with all group, services and statutory obligations.
  • Profile

    We are looking for an experienced Commercial Accountant - please consider the following;

  • You must be studying or in a position to study a professional finance qualification i.e. CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
  • Ideally have experience in a commercial or management accounting role in a position of similar responsibility.
  • Financial modelling skills (including macros) and a detailed understanding of financial forecasting is advantageous.
  • Experience of working in the support services sector and contract accounting would be advantageous.
