Our partner is a young, but leading and growing human rights organisation with programmes in Asia and Africa. They are going through a period of expansion; this includes establishing new country programmes, bringing their finance function in-house, and preparing themselves to receive a large institutional grant.
They are seeking a Systems Accountant to support the Head of Finance in the implementation and integration of their new cloud-based system; reviewing and ensuring that their processes meet their statutory, regulatory and grants compliance requirements; and documenting any changes and new processes and policies.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the implementation of the new system, including liaising with internal stakeholders to continually ensure that the system is capturing the business requirements; liaising with the software provider and contractor on system configuration; and facilitating data migration.
- Support in developing tools to monitor grant income and expenditure.
- Undertaking testing of the new system, leading on the roll out and facilitating training for all relevant members of staff.
- Review existing accounting & financial management processes and policies, ensuring these meet grant compliance requirements and making recommendations on any improvements in line with best practice.
- Update Finance Procedures & Policies Manual, ensuring it reflects changes in processes and the system.
Person Specification
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant with experience in project management of a new systems implementation from the scoping to the delivery stage within an INGO with multi-country and multi-currency operations.
- Experience of charity finance and accounting processes, including cost allocation and cost recovery.
- A good understanding MSDyanmics and advanced MSExcel skills
- Experience of reviewing and documenting financial and accounting systems and processes.
- Excellent communication, business partnering and report writing skills.
- Experience of training finance and non-finance staff.
