Financial Controller

Robert Half are supporting a well known financial services company based in central Edinburgh with the recruitment of a Financial Controller. This role will report into the Finance Director and will form part of a highly outgoing and experienced finance team. The company have experienced significant growth over recent years, and with more exciting plans on the horizon, it is a fantastic time to join their team. This role is suited to a candidate currently working within financial services or in public practice, looking for that all important "first move".

Role

• Preparation of monthly management accounts including cashflow forecasting and budgeting
• Undertake proactive investigation, to develop a better understanding of the business and to provide operational performance
• Financial analysis to ensure that plans, budgets and forecasts for the company challenging and achievable
• Preparation of board papers for quarterly board meetings
• Liaise directly with senior management, providing accurate and timely MI
• Preparation and submission of accurate VAT returns
• Review work of the transactional finance team

Profile

• Qualified accountant (ICAS/ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Financial services experience is highly desirable OR assistant Manager/Manager currently working within Public Practice
• Eagerness to work in a collaborative team and environment
• Experience of statutory accounting and management accounting
• Knowledge of tax would be desirable

Salary & Benefits

Salary will be dependent on experience but will be in the region of £40,000 - £50,000 plus considerable benefits, including a bonus and flexible working
