Within Financial Services, your role forms part of Enterprise Services (ES) Finance, a team of 100 finance professionals striving to achieve its mission to “Drive strategic outcomes through transparent insights and passionate people”.

Do work what matters

You will report to the Senior Manager Strategic Investments as part of a team that provides confidence to sponsors, stakeholders and project managers by delivering accurate, timely and insightful knowledge. Our vision is to be the Centre of Excellence for Strategic Investment project finance and support at CBA.

Your responsibilities:

• Manage the delivery of monthly financial reporting for the assigned programmes/projects.
• Provide analysis of the assigned programmes/projects spend, including comparison of spend against budget and forecast.
• Review, analyse and constructively challenge the monthly project spend with a view to understanding the status of each project, including milestones, risks, issues, financial status (actuals, forecasts, budgets), and progress made each month. Highlight slippage, risks, issues or other constraints which may impact the Program.
• Manage the annual budgeting and monthly/quarterly forecast processes.
• Build and maintain relationships and trust with the project community to facilitate access to information and provide a contact point back for value added advice to the assigned programme/project teams.
• Communicate findings and insights to Strategic Investments management team.
• Initiate and drive processes to streamline, simplify, automate and place greater emphasis on value added analysis including assisting in the implementation of new reporting tools to ensure smooth change management.

What will help you succeed:

• Business/Accounting Degree (or other relevant experience) desirable
• Financial reporting and planning experience required
• Project accounting experience desirable
• Ability to liaise with senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical focus and critical thinking skills
