We're seeking a Finance Manager to join Marsh as a advisor to the Global Operations group; part of the newly created Global Operations & Technology division. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual with a start–up mentality as you will be joining an organization that is starting it's transformational journey to improved operational effectiveness.

Based in NYC, you'll report to the Global Operations Finance Leader. This highly visible position will work with senior leaders and CFO's to design and build a financial framework to provide performance insights across global regions.

You'll need to bring initiative in project management, decision–making and communication skills. Strong follow–through and collaboration is needed to gather information from various sources, bring projects to timely completion and share the results. The ability to grasp new concepts and work in a dynamic environment is vital.


  • Design a financial reporting suite for month end results, variance analysis and commentary for review with business partners so that they have a clear understanding of costs
  • Identify and develop key financial and operational metrics to evaluate business performance
  • Analyze data, build reports and dashboards to identify trends, performance gaps and opportunities for review with senior leadership
  • Build a consumption based methodology to allocate expenses back to regions for shared services
  • Collaborate across multiple functions, businesses and regions to share best practices, resolve complex issues and provide strategic direction
  • Create and maintain financial models that reflect business cases and operational initiatives, working with key stakeholders to iterate along the way
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to advise management on financial and operational analyses, issues that require attention, and recommendations.
  • Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely
  • Drive the global planning, budget, and forecast processes including preparing for operating reviews
  • Develop a process to assess investment initiatives globally, including ongoing prioritization and post–investment tracking
  • Work closely with regional teams and leaders from Operations, Technology, HR, Business Units and CFO's to drive key initiatives across the organization
  • Qualifications / Skills:

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 5–7 years of experience; prior supervisory experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people to become a trusted business partner
  • Prior experience navigating through a complex organization, handling competing priorities and goals
  • Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of an international cross–functional team to develop solutions
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience working with financial reporting tools such as Oracle, the Hyperion Financial Suite, SAP, Microsoft Objects, Anaplan, Tableau or Qlik
  • Ability to analyze financials, dive deep into data sets and provide innovative recommendations to management and business partners
