Plant Finance Manager - Oak Creek
Description Reporting directly to the Plant Finance Business Partner. The Plant Finance Manager will provide leadership, supervision and career development to the plant accounting team, direct and oversee assigned accounting and reporting activities, assist the Plant Controller in achieving the financial goals and objectives for the plant by working closely with plant leadership team, other plant associates, NA Finance Controlling Organization and Americas Manufacturing management. Principal Responsibilities:• Perform/review financial reporting processes which includes but not limited to monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close procedures, account reconciliations, functional analysis, establishment of judgmental reserve balances as required, provide and support all assigned periodic reports utilized in measuring plant performance in accordance with predefined deadlines• Utilize GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and assist in applying GAAP to transactions that are accounted for and reviewed. Exercise significant judgment when evaluating transactions. Assure that a robust internal control structure is in place, functioning effectively, and appropriately tested in accordance with SOX. Ensure that identified control and internal audit gaps are remediated on a timely basis. Responsible to cascade tone–at–the top messaging to employees they supervise as to the importance of internal controls.• Challenge processes and procedures to ensure practices are performed efficiently utilizing new systems/programs. Participate with continuous improvement initiatives related to finance processes and systems• Work with various staff and plant departments to implement effective financial analysis tools and processes. Participate in actives such as the annual operating plan, monthly/quarterly reporting, and special analysis as necessary. Understand and have an ability to summarize and communicate clearly accounting and financial aspects of the position and results which assist in evaluating progress against objectives• Develop direct reports by transferring knowledge of operations, financial concepts and business issues. Utilize management tools to provide associates with performance feedback and facilitate their development within the business and succession planning for key finance roles.
