We are looking for a new colleague to join Experian Global Finance Services (GFS). Global Finance Services is the fastest growing area of the Experian finance team with c 50% of the Experian Finance roles within this organisation. Global Finance Services is based in 4 main locations: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Sofia, Bulgaria; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Santiago, Chile with satellite offices in Nottingham, UK and Costa Mesa, US.

This purpose of the role is to ensure and deliver effective financial processes and controls that support business objectives and operational needs. The financial controller provides expert advice on accounting and governance matters.


Responsibilities:

•Single point of contact/escalation for Finance Directors on A&C matters
•Point of contact for Audit and External Accounting Relationships
•Responsible for country Revenue, Cost, Balance Sheet and Operating Cash flow
•Ensure all financial data is complete, accurate and all transactions are consistent with Experian’s accounting policies and IFRS.
•Ensure excellent and consistent financial data quality
•Ensure accurate and timely month/year end tasks in line with Experian requirements and close timetable
•Partner with the business to mitigate risks or propose actions for improving processes, governance and the controlling function
•Ensure a strong and effective internal control and governance framework is in place with completed and accurate revenue related financial data and all transactions are consistent with Experian’s accounting policies and Group/ IFRS / local reporting requirements.

 

Requirements:

•At least 5-6 years of relevant experience in the field of finance, financial accounting or audit.
•Enrolment in CIMA or ACCA or full qualification would be considered a strong advantage
•Presence, gravitas and ability to influence senior stakeholders in both finance and non-finance roles
•A tangible track record of independently improving the efficiency, accuracy and insight provided by finance processes.
•A strong drive to understand the commercial drivers of a business
•Ability to communicate numerical information in an easy to understand manner
•Adaptability to change and a proven track record of working in a fast -paced matrix organisation and with key working relationships being geographically remote
•Strong knowledge and understanding of technical accounting – e.g. revenue recognition, CAPEX, etc.
•Fluent verbal and written English
