Wood is currently seeking a Staff Accountant for our Houston, Texas office to support the Corporate Management team in ensuring completeness and accuracy of Company's financial accounts and driving the development and implementation of best practices for the General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Intercompany responsibilities.

  • Ensure that all accounting entries are prepared accurately and in line with corporate deadlines
  • Month end close, including analytical review, in a timely and effective manner for Oracle trial balances
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and determining action plans to resolve reconciling differences, clearing of conversion balances, etc.
  • Identifying and helping to resolve intercompany payable and receivable outages
  • Researching/analyzing inconsistencies in treatment and areas of improvement to determine and implement best practices across the organizations
  • Supporting Corporate Accounting Manager in providing pertinent information to Finance VPs in a customer oriented manner
  • Assisting in audit requests with internal and external audit teams
  • Providing centralized accounting functions for the businesses supported, including but not limited to IT, health benefits, fixed assets & intangibles, real estate accounting, etc.
  • **Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required

    Skills / Qualifications


  • Bacherlor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or similiar discipline required
  • Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of Accounting experience including experience with completing balance sheet reconciliations required
  • Understanding of IFRS and GAAP
  • Experience with a major ERP system is required. Oracle is a plus
  • Strong excel skills
