Temporary Assistant Accountant

Temporary Ongoing Contract

My client is a global multi-national organisation based in the Falkirk area. Due to continued growth, they have an immediate requirement for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join them in this newly created position. This will be on a temporary ongoing contract, there is a possibility of this role leading to permanent employment.

Responsibilities will include:

Assisting Accounting Referent in the preparation of monthly management accounts
Records the accruals for goods and services at the monthly closing date
Manages all the accruals, keeping the archive of the supporting documentation at the administrative offices
Verifies the accounting adjustments for IFRS and manages the reconciliation between IFRS and local GAAP
Capitalisation of fixed assets and the maintenance of the Fixed Asset register
Prepares the Intrastat and IntraEU forms and the Government statistical returns
Ensuring that major control accounts agree to underlying transactions
Supports external auditors and tax authorities during audits

To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following background and skills:

Previous experience of working within a varied financial role which would include Assistant Accountant, General Ledger, Financial Accounting &/or Financial Analyst
Ideally you will be educated to degree level within accounting and recently or keen to commence your professional ACCA or CIMA qualification
Experience of working within a small finance team, within a large multi-national organisation, providing support depending on the needs of the team and business
Strong IT skills which should include MS Excel and ideally SAP or an alternative ERP system
Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail and analysis skills
